Photo was rejected for softness, and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it:

I'd applied an Unsharp Mask filter in Photoshop like what the FAQ says (strength 200, radius 0.3), but I guess it didn't work.

It did work, but it needs a little more. Be careful with jaggies though. Give it another pass, possibly two at 50, 0.2, 0. I would also say it needs a little more contrast and it's dark. The angle of the light isn't helping as it's semi-backlit.

Here's a couple re-done versions; both have had the contrast boosted with extra sharpening, but the second also has boosted brightness.

After correction some jaggies can be seen. Most obvious on "American".
Brightness is better in boosted version, I think.

Tried again with a second photo of another aircraft that I have, but was thrown out for color and contrast this time:
