In Memory Of John Kelley

Wed Feb 10, 2010 1:20 am

Hi all!
John Kelley, a long time uploader to ANet and a member of the YYZ Airport Watch. He was also a Database Editor of ANet and has over 1,700 photos here.
Sorry to say sad news that John passed away on July 31, 2009. We didn't hear or know til we got the news this morning. I have met him several times at YYZ and he was a good friend of Parr Yonemoto.
On June 1, 2009 was the last time many of us saw him at YYZ where Emirates Airbus A380 made its inaugural visit. He was a great gentleman and he is missed by many of us who know him around YYZ.

Rest in Peace, John

Frank

I never knew John as his time on the crew was long before mine, but I am saddened to hear of the loss of one who came before me.

While John's work as an Editor would not be immediately obvious to visitors to the site, he has also left us a fine legacy with his collection of photos, which I would encourage anyone to look through.

RIP John.

Best regards,

Jim

John was one of the very first people to help Johan out with the site back in the nineties. He later left the crew, but he returned in 2004 and remained until 2008 when he retired again, due to problems with headaches from sitting in front of a screen for extended periods of time.

As has been pointed out, he has left behind an impressive collection on airliners.net, the oldest dating from 1938!

R.I.P.

Hi all

Sad news indeed. Wish I had known about this earlier.

I remember John back in the early days. Not much communication crew wise but remember screenign quite a lot of his stuff.

Regards

Gary
