Rare 747 Sighting At DFW Today

Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:03 am

I wish I'd had more than my binoculars with me Saturday afternoon at DFW. I was waiting for QF 7 to arrive... it was late by 50 minutes. QF7 usually arrives around 1:10pm, but this day (July 2nd) it touched down around 2pm. So just as the QF 7 747 was touching down on 18R, a China Freight 747 was rolling out for take off on 18L. There aren't that many 747 arrivals and departures at DFW, so that was a rare sighting. If only I'd had a camera with me !!

I was there as well, and I did have a camera.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/texasphotoshow/5895295344/in/photostream

And, yeah, it was a point and shoot, so the pic isn't that great...  Smile Just trying out my new knockaround camera. Didn't have the big one with me that day...

Except for Qantas, Korean, British, Korean Cargo, Singapore Cargo, EVA Cargo, Southern Air, China Airlines Cargo, Air China Cargo, China Cargo Airlines, Cathay Cargo and sometimes UPS, yeah 747s are rare.

Was it a charter or a special, or VIP plane?
