Screening Team Updates

Hi All,

We would like to announce some changes to the screening team which some of you may have already noticed.

Our thanks to Dana Low for all of the valuable personal time he contributed to the community both as a screener and later as a Head Screener. We wish him all the best and no doubt we'll continue to see him around.

We have appointed two new Head Screeners, Patrick de Coninck and Mark McEwan to again bring the number of Head Screeners to 5 and we thank them for taking on the extra responsibilities the role brings.

Additionally we have promoted 2 screeners in training to full screener status and will likely promote 2 more over the coming weeks, again, our thanks to them for volunteering their spare time to help the community as we look to shift in a new direction.

We have also set up a Quality and Acceptance Criteria team to work with you and the screening team to help with any questions you may have. They are contactable via [email protected] and will operate similar to how the priority screening team do.

Thanks so much Dana for all your help over the last few years- many of us have progressed far as photographers in part because of your advice in there forums. Hope to see you around.

I would also like to publicly thank Dana for all his help, both with my photography and editing through the Feedback Forum, and for his guidance during my first months of screening. And more generally, thanks for the massive amount of time you dedicated to this website.

I am pretty new to this site and to aviation photography in general, so my most tremendous gratitude to Dana for being such a patient and helpful presence in the feedback forum.

Congrats to the two new head screeners. Although it sounds like perhaps they should be wished best of luck as well!

I'm sad to see Dana leave the team. He took on the brutal, thankless task of actively engaging in forum discussions, and his dedication to keeping the community informed as well as offering his help in the feedback forum was definitely appreciated. I hope he remains an active, contributing member to this site.

Congratulations to the new headscreeners and full-screeners on their promotions.

I'd also like to thank Dana Low for his huge contribution to this site over the years. His forum posts were always informative and respectful to all and I learned a great deal reading them over the years. As my mentor, you were always there to answer my many questions. Thank you.

Congratulations also to the new screeners and also the new Head Screeners!

Let me join the other guys by thanking Dana for his dedication and offering so much time for the site. I know you have done a LOT.

Congrats to Patrick and Mark for their new position!  

And finally welcome onboard to the new guys; enjoy the ride!

I would also like to announce that Andres Contador has re-joined us as screener.
He departed a few years ago due to work/family commitments.

My personal "Many many thanks" to Dana who made a awful lot of work for this site and was always available to help the crew for anything.

I would like to add my thanks to Dana for his valuable contributions to the forum, enabling me and many others to understand the criteria and standards required.

I notice that Mick Bajcar, Head Screener UK, has also disappeared from the list of screeners, did I miss an announcement about his departure? He certainly helped me with one particular photo that I was having various problems with, so I would like to thank him as well for the hours he obviously put in on the site.

Mick left the screening crew several months ago and he's greatly missed in the team but thankfully he's still uploading lots of photos.

I last screened early in April and there was no announcement as I asked for it to be that way - I did not want my departure to be seen as a distraction from the good work the team do after the difficult 'Default Image' problems.

Good to see my friend Andres back and many thanks to Dana - he did an awful lot for the site via the forum and he screened high volumes too.

It was a damned good team to be a part of !

Mick Bajcar will indeed be missed. A true aviation enthusiast, particularly for the kinds of aircraft I like, and a wonderful photographer.

I am grateful for his helpful personal comments on many of my rejections.

I wish him all the very best in his future endeavors and hope to see many more uploads from him.

I also noticed Stefan Sonnenberg left the team, pitty it isn't mentioned here at all as he has been part of the team for some years.
