Illegal Image Use

Wed Jan 22, 2014 9:31 pm

I just noticed that someone has had their image stolen by C&L Aerospace:
http://cla.aero/aircraft-services/aircraft-management/

You can see the watermark in the center image.

Wow I can't believe they would blatantly take a photo like that, with the watermark so clearly visible!

I've contacted the photographer.

I'm pretty sure I've also seen the photo along the top of this page on a.net before, too.

I would suggest that contacting the photgrapher should have been the first thing to do rather post it on the forum. It may well be stolen but the company may have the photographer's permission.

Quoting derekf (Reply 3):

Basically you are right. But it is unlikely that a complany who wants to use a picture uses the one with the watermark. They usually ask for a high res version without watermark.

But contacing the photographer is the most important thing here.

Happens all the time - designer creates a mock up using a watermarked image for approval, and forgets to replace it with the clean version on the production site. You see it a lot with stock library images. Usually caused by someone asking for something to be done by yesterday

Cheers,

Colin

Thanks for the info. I have never seen something like that before. Looks like some people are really doing a good job
