Spotting In Dubai

I need some information on Spotting at DXB. I did a forum search and all I found were about the things dated years back.

Is taking photos of aircrafts from terminal allowed at DXB? I had read about the tinted glass making life difficult to take clean pictures in the past. Is this still true?

Also, how about the nearby airports like Sharjah?

Any updates based on current trend is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

DXB Numbers ok in the airport, photos rubbish due windows.
However, tab down about 3/4 way down this page and read " 3 Dutch spotters jailed in DXB" before you do anything

First, they were in Fujairah, not Dubai. Second, there are thousands of photos from Dubai taken by hundreds of photographers. None of us are in jail.

I've been a few times to landside Food Court on Terminal 1 and no one bothered me about taking photos from there. Glass is sometimes dirty with sand and slightly tinted but still workable.

However you'll only be able catch aircraft going to the south side of Concourse A.

Thank you all for your feedback.

I will only be taking pictures for a small time window and I hope I will get thru without issues. Any other pointers from others will help too. Thanks again.

It looks like I may get routed via Sharjah due to DXB runway work. Anybody has recent experience from taking pictures in Sharjah? Is it better or worse than DXB in terms of getting a quality picture? I am sure there won't be many flights like DXB, but the diversions due to the runway work should give more opportunities to see more flights I hope.
