Resizing

Sat Jul 19, 2014 9:57 am

I am new to aviation photography, I want to resize my photos according to the airliners regulations ie 1024 x 683
I shoot raw with canon 60d 24-100 l lens, for example I tried to downsize (photoshop) from 5184 to 1024 I get jagged lines all over the aircraft ( this is before I sharpen ), but when I downsize to 2048 I don't get jagged lines, I've tried with different software with similar results. I have tried all the resample options bicubic etc with similar results. I would be very grateful for any advice please
Many thanks
Chris

You could try re-sizing in increments. I saw that mentioned here once and I find it seems to help. I normally use two intermediate sizes.

I would also make sure that your capture setting is not sharper than default.

Finally, if your quality is good you could aim for 1200 instead of 1024.
