Weird Halos On Non Edited Pics
My last time plane spotting i shot planes against a blue sunny sky and saw a very weird halo outlining the plane. These halos appear before the picture is even edited. I have been shooting the same way every single time and i just dont know why they are there. I use a nikon d5200 with a 70-300vr (no filter) and i shoot manual. Im not sure what i can do to fix this problem.

This sounds like the notorious "D-Lighting" feature, which you should turn off.

I agree, sounds like D-lighting. I had a similar problem which took me a little time to figure out. There's nothing in the camera instructions (at least not that I could find) that advised that having the D-lighting feature switched on was likely to cause halo problems. Anyway, that's what it was, and as soon as I switched it off problem solved!

A lot of the time, it won't. But when you shoot a plane against a blue sky, if D-Lighting is on, then you will almost certainly get halos.
