Photographers Choice: How Many Votes Are Received?

Hi,

to those of you in the know:

How many votes would a picture that wins "photographers choice" receive, on average?
I know this varies per day, but I just would like to have a ballpark figure! What are we talking?

10?
100?
1000?

I guess my question is; how many photographers actually vote?
I often forget but I vote at least a few times a week!

I know I try and vote once a day as I trawl through the new uploads. It's fun!

Agree with Gabor, my guess is the figure is pretty low as well.


I only do it occasionally once in a while and strange enough most of the shots I vote on appear in the top 15 one day later..
But perhpas my taste is very mainstream...

I've been thinking about that some time ago. My idea is only about 10-20 votes. This low number shows how easy is to "manipulate" the results, as it happened one or two months ago with a facebook group.

I don't vote very often - only when I see a photo that really catches my eye.

From what I recall, they cannot be voted for after 7 days but probably still have more votes than other photos so they sit on the Top 15 list. They will theoretically never win PC as new votes can't be added. My guess is they are replaced over time as newer photos accumulate more votes. There must not be a ton of votes going on if old photos are sitting on the list for 1.5 weeks.
