Hello Everyone,
I am having big-time issues with colour correction. Currently I am editing pictures on my laptop which has major colour calibration issues. I tried several workouts but all in vain. Thus, I am thinking of getting a monitor that can be physically connected to the laptop for display.
My question is that will the bad colour calibration from my laptop also reflect on the external monitor that I plug into it or will the monitor have its own correct calibration even if its plugged into a laptop which has an incorrect one?

Why don't you just calibrate your laptop monitor? Remember you should calibrate it in the lighting conditions you will be using your laptop in if possible. I have an X-rite device that works well with both Mac and Win machines and rarely have colour issues.
All monitors be they laptop or stand alone should be calibrated or you will always struggle to get consistent, replicable results.

Thanks Jid. I tried calibrating my laptop display several times, but the overall colour tone of a picture which appears normal on my laptop appears wrong on other monitors.

How are you trying to calibrate the laptop? What are you using?

This won't give you reliable colors, as you'll do it by eye. You need a colorimeter (hardware sensor).
The one I use is the Spyder4Pro. No matter which one, they work similarly and are always better than your eyes, as they measure objectively.
