Tripods In Brussels Air Museum?

Mon Nov 16, 2015 12:43 pm

Can anyone tell me if tripods are allowed in the Brussels Air Museum? I never received a response from my query directly to the museum.

Thanks,
Mark

Definitely not allowed Mark, unfortunately.

Thank you, Peter,
(Although I would rather have thanked you for good news!)

I was there in the summer, some of the recent uploads are mine. A Gorillapod or something like that is very useful in the upstairs galleries.

The central hall is not that dark, but also not as light as you might expect under the dirty glass roof. It might pay off to go both in the morning and in the afternoon. Some of the best aircraft, such as the Mosquito, are very difficult to get a good shot of unfortunately.

Not so suprising perhaps with the homepage anouncing a Baron Pierre de Caters centennial in 2008...

I visited in 1989 and there was a folk market being held inside the museum and many of the exhibits were draped with all kinds of lace crafts and folk costumes.. Not impressed!
Might head on up and take another look when I spend a month in Paris next September.

Cheers

I was there May 2014. Had to leave my tripod at the entrance. Further to my chagrin the upper galleries were closed! This was not a happy weekend: I had arrived from Paris where my tripod was also a big no-no.
