New Camera

Fri Nov 20, 2015 4:09 pm

Hi, I am looking for your advise.

I want to purchase a new camera and can't decide between the Canon 7D Mark II and the Nikon D7500.

I understand that one is a full frame and the other is a crop sensor,

Mainly I will be using the camera's for family, holidays and aviation photo's.

Never used a Nikon before.

No such thing as a Nikon D7500.

Maybe you mean D7200? Do you already have glass for Canon? If so, it's an easy choice.

D750, hands down. I did a full switch from Canon last year and I can't express enough how happy I am with this camera. I do miss Canon lenses, but the D750 is so powerful and so versatile, I have zero regrets. It's probably the best all-purpose full frame camera available.

7dII has a APS-C sensor, Nikon D750 has a full format sensor. They can not really be compared. FF comes with a price and that is the need for longer, better and more expensive lenses. If you want to pay the price the D750 is great, if not the 7dII or the Nikon D7200 are the better choice. Imho the D7200 is probably offering the best value for money of all current DSLRs on the market.

FF only makes sense if you need high ISO a lot. If you stay below ISO800 the smaller sensors are fine and the Nikon one in the D7200 has very much the same dynamic range as the FF sensor in the D750.
