ricox Pre-Screening

Fri Apr 28, 2017 6:05 am

Hi guys,
I had this

Image
rej for:
Banding
Vignetting
UnderExp

After a deeply analisys on the works, equalizing limage level I could not find Band, but, this morning on teh site, moving up and down the pic on my screen I saw ... i reworked and chaged the frame and this is the result:

Image

now my feeling is that I fixed the band but I want to discuss on vignetting, what I see here is not the lens defect, I boosted the regulation given by my software with my lens data but the sun was on my left and I think that is normal to see the sky darker on the right side than on the left no??
Thank's in advance to anyone want to leave a feedbak.

Hi,

the banding is definitely there on the first Image, especially visible in the area above / around the tail.
It is better on the second image, but this one is even darker than the first one (?!).
It definitely needs to be brighter.

Otherwise I wouldn't call it vignetting, it is a typical effect of some ultra-wide angle lenses and yes the sun is on the left side, so it is brighter. So I would personally agree with you on this one.
But like I said before the shot is definitely underexposed.

Perhaps you posted the wrong shot, but underexposed means the shot needs to be brighter. The shot I can see is the darkest so far. Ot goes in the wrog direction and further accentuates the sky.

Ah .. no I left the sky as it was, I gave some light to the plane ... the sky is natural I'm afraid that if I give light to the sky I fall in banding issue :-(
I try....

Well, I think if the background is darker than the airplane it might be rejected with Dark. And if the background is lighter than the plane it might be rejected with dark too because the object ( plane) is dark. So i will keep their balance when I edit them.

The last photo is definitely too underexposed and editing looks odd.

The aircraft still looks dark. Almost like a lot of messing around with shadow/highlights. I can give it a try if you send the RAW to my A.net E-mail (you may still have my address).

Whatever you do, but you are not brightening the airplane. Like Kas says the Image is still dark and still darker than the first one that was rejected for "underexposed".
Try to increase exposure or brightness, but dont work with shadow / Highlight Tools or anything similar.

If you ask me I would kindly take Kas' editing offer, otherwise you don't seem to be going anywhere (no disrespect and please don't take it wrong).

If it's a very recent crash, you can try. Worst thing that can happen is that it gets deprioritized.

Thank's Stefan, sometimes is only a matter of luck, I could say it because nobody suffered injuries.
If you are in the right piace at the right time ... like your most viewed photo!! In your case there was also a very good photographer :-)
Bye.
