I recommend a crop such as shown below:
Image
The bird: best to remove it.
Blurry: seems all over.
Overall lighting is not the best. Top of cockpit area is over exposed. Image looks quite washed out, i.e. lacking contrast.

Hope this helps!

Looks quite oversharpened for me. Jaggies are bad on the main titles. Looks overexposed towards the front as well.

I think it has a fair chance of acceptance (screener discretion); you may have better frames that may increases the chances of acceptance. Please post so we can comment on it.

This is being a bit picky but it still looks a touch flat to me — perhaps a little saturation would improve its chances?

One of the biggest issues with this kind of shot is that a lot of the area of the aircraft you're shooting is dark (i.e. in shadow). If this aircraft were level with you your camera would be metering a pretty uniform scene, however at this angle it's struggling to balance the highlights and shadows.

Thanks, I was using centre weight metering. Anyway, it helps with practice, what I am concerned about is skies are unpolluted these days so light is much better.

Your image looks like it is part of the traffic at an airport? If so, please use the airport as location.

Sharpness looks acceptable on my screen but the image still looks flat to me. If it's taking this much work to get it accepted it's probably one to abandon.

In both images or the second one? By flat means lacks contrast or saturation?
This was a rare spotting location, and add in the lockdown factor it was a rare image.

Your sunset shot would be much better in portrait (which would crop out some of the distracting lens flares — the remaining ones you could deal with). There's banding in the sky too but that's now acceptable.

While I'm sure that JakTrax can point to specific cased of accepted images that show banding, those instances have been addressed with the respective photographers. The level of banding in your image would not be acceptable.

Looks okay to me. Picky, but I think its a tad soft, and a brightness boost wouldn't hurt. With that said, I'm not used to shooting/editing darker paint schemes, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I had photo rejected, even after Head screener @jelpee thought those were passable. :( This is version, I edited for a little bit more contrast.

Hi Yousaf,

Flynas A320 looks not bad to me overall.Color looks fine from my side as well, but the quality at the sky seems kind of iffy as it looks noisy / compression at my side. I probably would second opinion this one by mentioning CW slightly and marginal sky quality since the I am iffy about the level. Sharpness, contrast and others look not bad for me.
Hope that helps.

How do measure/see compression in a photo? I levelled it by the horizon and vertical part of the conveyer.

It would likely look better with 0.1 or 0.2 degrees of rotation but since there are no reliable verticals it would be a bit picky to reject for 'level'. I still think the colour is more of an issue.

Don't be so hard on yourself. When I have my images rejected, if the feedback is valid, I edit the image and resubmit. If I disagree with the rejection, I appeal. If the image is denied on appeal, I just keep it for my personal collection and move on. Nothing to lose by submitting (except for perhaps a temporary loss one's pride in the case of a rejection) and everything to gain. No guarantees in life except Death and Taxes, as they say.

Jehan

p.s. And yes, even my images are rejected by my fellow screeners.

Amrit is spot on. No impact to future uploads. The only issue limiting uploads is the number of accepted images which determines how many you can have in the upload queue at any one time.

And agree with that "Don't beat yourself up" comment as well :)

Silhouette shots such as these are accepted subject to meeting the other guidelines such as distance, sharpening noise, centering, etc. Non-centered aircraft may be accepted if there is sufficient motive. e.g. to accommodate an aerial/celestial, or land feature. Here's a non centered shot of mine with motive that is in the DB.
