FWIW (late reply) I agree with Harry. The composition of the second photo is excellent though!

Thanks Kas. I’m pleased to hear your thoughts on the composition but that makes the fact it looks blurry really frustrating! Do you think it is something that could be lessened with a touch more sharpening band a smaller image size?

Hi

Just after some feedback on this one please. It was taken at an airshow and I am not sure if there is too much going on and therefore may be a motive rejection?

Thanks

.. also after some feedback on this F-18. Is the jet exhaust on the left wing too much to be accepted?

Thanks again

Hi Chris,

The Falcon has some darkening on the upper edge, but passable for me since on wide angle shots it is hard to avoid. There is no obstruction to the aircraft so motive should not be an issue.

The Hornet could use a bump in exposure and contrast: check the histogram.

Cheers,

Jehan

Thanks Jehan. I’ll adjust the Hornet and see if I can get rid of the darkening on the Falcon - but if not it’s good to know it would be ok as is.

Hi Chris,
AGU : Still looks soft or me especially the rear/tail part seems very soft.
YAB : Level looks better now. But the wing and the tail looks soft/blurry IMO.
KC30A : Underexposed and little bit low contrast for me.Light angle /condition was not quiet good.
F35A : Front / Nose area looks blurry for me rather than soft.
019 : Not bad & better IMO,but there are some dirty specks in the sky.
021 :The same as 019.

Regards,
Harry

Thanks Harry... and thanks for the heads up on the dirty spots. I have been using a lens with a filter on it that I don't normally use and obviously its dirty as I have been getting a few like this. Too focused on the planes .. have missed the dirty spots elsewhere! The light was harsh too being the middle of an Aust. summer day so I will do the best I can with these.

Thanks

Nice light but I think the plane is just too dark compared with the sky. It would be different I think when it was more a silhouette.

Thanks Stefan. I appreciate the feedback. The original out of the camera looks close to a silhouette so I will see what I can do with it darkening it rather than than increasing exposure.

This photo could be potentially soft and underexposed; maybe an extra kick of sharpness and lighter exposure (and/or lighter shadows) would help, unless if anyone else wants to chime in.

Sharpness is OK for me; definitely could use some additional brightness and contrast (check histogram). Also needs some WB adjustment: image has a brown tint.

Thanks guys .. much appreciated.

Have done a little bit of re-editing to tory and capture your feedback and also provide a bit of a better contrast between the clouds and the aircraft so they didn't blend as much when I lifter the brightness.

Do you feel this is now any better? https://ibb.co/Bt7vnMt

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Still looks a bit underexposed and brown. To solve the 'brown', use a cooler white balance.

Hi Chris,

The Ethihad still feels soft...perhaps it is the lighting. I softness in the main titles, nose, nose gear. The rear of the aircraft looks fine.
The SQ is marginal. The nose has blown highlights and also look blurry to me.

Hi All

Just after some feedback on a couple of rejections.

QF 737 - https://www.airliners.net/user/photo-co ... to/5536391 . Has been rejected for halos, soft and underexposed. Can I have feedback mainly on the halos as I have reviewed in photoshop (equalise function) and can't see where the halos are. Also have reviewed the histogram and don't feel the image is under exposed but I am happy for feedback on this too.

AC A330 - https://www.airliners.net/user/photo-co ... to/5536435 . Has been rejected for dark, soft and CW Rotation. This one I am confused by as I am not sure what the CW Rotation issue is when it's in the air? I understand what this is and how it is applied on the ground or if there is a horizon or straight edges but this one is landing. Also have reviewed the histogram and don't feel the image is under exposed but I am happy for feedback on this too.

Thanks in advance for your feedback on these 2.

Hi .. this one is for one of the screeners on the site ..

I just after some feedback on a recent series of rejections ...

Have had a number of recent rejections for High in Frame. I haven't changed how I frame an image so I am a little confused as to why all of a sudden the rejections.

This is an example of one that has been rejected (and then rejected on appeal) - https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/ai ... 8cd832c1dd

However .. I don't see the difference between the rejected one and this one which was accepted into the database a while ago (which is similar in framing to a lot of images in my profile) - https://www.airliners.net/photo/Qantas/ ... 38/5593761

Can someone please explain the difference to me so I can fix whatever is felt is wrong? (and please not with the same sarcasm used in the personal message of the rejected image)

Thanks for your help

Hi Chris, it's never a good thing to compare accepted photos with rejected ones. It's better to look at it from a objective view. Your photo looks slightly high in frame to me. Probably because of the high tail in combination with the horizontal position of the plane. The accepted shot looks also a bit high in frame to me. Not sure why sarcasm was used by the screener. Don't think that's a good thing though. Greets Stefan

That's not really super high in frame... Bit harsh in my opinion. But perhaps center the top edge of the fuselage instead of the fuselage itself. That will for sure not cause any HIF rejection.

Very toplit and thus underexposed. Personally, if the photo doesn't have any personal value to you, I would bin it and try again with better light.
