Slight indication of jaggies on the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer but acceptable for me.

Hi. Just after some feedback on this rejection as I am trying to decide if I appeal or not.

This was rejected for Blurry and common and also a personal message that I think was missed off the rejection email as there was no message on my email.

This one will look familiar as it was only about 3 or 4 posts ago I posted here for feedback.

The forum is normally a good place to get a feeel for the suitability of the picture before uploading so I was a little surprised.

Also not sure about the common rejection ... Not sure it’s any more common than any of my other pictures?

https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/3/2/3/5083323.jpg?v=v411575a2551

Your guidance on an appeal would be much appreciated

Thanks
Chris

I didn't screen it, but the nose and tail look blurry. Common always refers to the number of photos already in the database (of that particular registration). Usually after 100+ photos already in the DB, we sometimes give common to indicate that it's a common frama in the DB and quality needs to be above par.

In the end, I don't advise appealing and probably let this shot go.

Hi Chris, that was my doing and it appears that I forgot to write the message (apologies). I think it was along the lines that the tail and esp. nose looked blurry, nothing else.

Cheers,
Miguel

All good Miguel. :-)

I have seen the numbers in the screening queue so I'm sure there are some occasional oversights. Hopefully the rest of the photos I have in my queue have more luck! :-)

Looks a little bit oversharped and perhaps a tad low in frame.

I thought it might be a little low in frame but when I ran a grid across it it was pretty much centered. I think the angle is deceiving however I will move it up a tad as it does look a bit low. Sharpening can be easy fixed too.

Thanks for the feedback. much appreciated! :-)

Hi All

This one was just rejected for Grainy, Soft and Low Contrast - https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/air ... 658f03be4f

Is this re-edit any better?

Still seeing grain on the underside of the fuselage as well as where there are shadows.

Seems better but also still grainy, probably would be better at a smaller size. Doesn't seem to have the overall quality for 1400, probably better at 1200 or 1024.

Hi community :-)

I seem to be having some issues with my exposure and sharpening recently for some reason. I just had this one rejected for oversharp and overexposed. I am considering an appeal but thought I would get some feedback first.

https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/9/6/0/5087069.jpg?v=v40ff521cefe

If it is both of these I’m happy to re-edit. Just starting to doubt what I’m doing slightly as I haven’t really changed my workflow from the earlier ones that have been accepted.

Thanks
Chris

The nose is a bit blown out and there are some jaggies on the tail. Imo its marginal, but I think the rejection is valid. I am struggling with sharpening too, my results are very inconsistent. New issue seems to pop up every time I submit, even if I only changed the previous rejection reason. :?: :? :?

With some of my recent rejections I second guessing some things I thought I was staring to get OK at. That being the case I am interested in feedback on this one - particularly with exposure and sharpening settings.

Area around the cockpit looks a bit soft/blurry. I'd say 50/50.

Better yes, but I'd give the titles and cockpit section (incl. nose sticker) a bit more sharpening. Perhaps also some +5/+8 contrast.

Probably a fairly moot point since Kas weighed in, but the cockpit windows and nose gear door appear to me to be in particular need of another small dose of sharpening.

Parts look oversharpened, but parts are also appearing soft/blurry. Contrast is probably fine, but could maybe do with a minor increase. Color is fine on my screen. This is probably better at a smaller size (1024).

Hi, text on the plane looks oversharpened to me. Not sure if it needs some more contrast as well. I would also add some more blue in the photo. Good luck

Thanks Guys. I have taken the sharpening off the titles (this was a mask so easy to do). I have added more blue, increased the contrast a couple of points and re-sized.

Did it help?

Also just interested in thoughts on the framing of this one. I don't think the pic is good enough to add to the screening list, but I am interested to know what people's thoughts are on its framing and would a better picture framed int he same way be accepted?

(if you do think its good enough to add to the queue, please let me know, although I am not expecting it is :-) )

The A330 is OS and light is pretty bad. I wouldn't bother to be honest. Did you shoot through a fence? I'm having a hard time explaining the large darker patches on the grass.
QF 330 looks blurry/hazed and the angle isn't that flattering.
787 looks oversharpened to compensate for blur. Wingtip quite jaggy.
A380 underexposed, flat and motive (more than 50% of the gear cut off).

Thanks Kas. Not my best but i needed a 2nd opinion to confirm.

You are right, the first A330 was shot through a fence and I was hoping that the fence was diluted enough, which it doesn’t look like it has, which is ok.

All 4 going in the bin.

Thanks again

CX A359: Some parts look a bit OS but may be passable
QF B738: Tail looks slightly soft. I'd add noise reduction to the sky too.

As for the TG B788, I prefer the 2nd version.

CX looks fine to me, TG v2 may need a little contrast and parts are borderline oversharpened, QF looks soft in parts to me as well, the roo, Spirit of Australia titles, and forward door, and agree it does need noise reduction in the sky.
