Thanks a lot Kas. Will remove ITB from the queue. I'm having problems detecting these kinds of defects and don't know exactly where to look at. Should I investigate problems just by looking at the edited shot at 100% zoom? Or is there another trick like equalizing the shot in Photoshop?
The monitor I'm using mostly for editing is Asus VX238H. I'm having harder times with a Macbook Pro (Non-Retina) display.
Cheers,
Dara

Hey guys, I've got two recently rejected shots. Would be glad to have your comment on them:

Rejected for soft:

Rejected for blurry:

Hi Dara:

3-6305 looks soft in the canopy and nose area.; also underexposed for me. I believe if you increase the brightness it will expose more of the softness.
EP-FQI: Don't see blurriness on this one. The 747 in the background is out of focus, but OK since it is not the main subject. I'd say that it is High in Frame even with the B747 in the frame.

I guess I should try a smaller size with a bit more exposure and sharpness for the first one and for the second one, maybe I should try a 16:9 crop to fix the composition.
Thanks a lot Jehan

At work so unable to judge the quality at the moment, but the crop looks fine. With compositions like this, I always prefer it like this. 16:9 would eliminate empty space above/below, so your choice.

Hi Kas,
I prefer 2:3 too but if it's going to be considered as high, I don't have any other options :) . I will keep the crop and try my luck in appeal.
Cheers

I see the logic of framing it the way you did. However, for me with the 747 in the background being out of focus, centering with it does not add much to the composition. I would rather you show the main subject front and center vs having it distracted by an OOF aircraft in the background. I guess it is one of personal preferences.

EP-ITF, EP-CPU look acceptable for me; EP-MMN shows some slight blur towards the front (e.g. flag); try it at 1200 pixels.
EP-ITD: Slightly High in Frame, but acceptable for me. Not seeing blur.
EP-ITB: Framing looks fine for me
EP-GZB: Looks fine to me.

Hi Dara,

My thoughts:

EP-ZGC: Looks OK for me. A tad yellow but acceptable for time of day. What was it rejected for?
EP-TTA: Same as above
EP-IDJ: Same as above
EP-VAA; Heat haze is causing the main titles to be distorted; could be passable for me depending on how rare it is.
3-669: Blurry: Tail is out of focus. There is some banding at the top, but that is difficult to avoid on a wide angle shot such as this.
Cheers,

Hi Jehan,

Thanks for you comment. The shots were rejected for these reasons:

ZGC and TTA: rejected for Oversheped and Heat Haze.
IDG: rejected for Blurry and Oversharpened.
VAA: rejected for Heat Haze.
F-4D: rejected for low in frame.

Do you think I should appeal some of them?

Have a great day,
Dara

Seems harsh for the first 3 IMO. You could try appealing.

I don't see any problematic heat-haze in images one, two and four. Looks like the paint in the titles is peeling off a bit in image one, which could give the illusion of haze, and the titles are all over the place in image four, but again not due to haze. There's very little haze present in the background, which is a lot further away than your subjects. The screener is seeing something that's not really there.

Generally agree with the others reasons, though. The last one is low in frame and I'd say it needs CW rotation.

While I quite like both personally, they’d probably be motive rejections, they lack the real “pizzazz” that others show that some other Interior photos have.

Hi Dara,

#1 looks blurry overall and particularly noticeable on the sides); also has a yellow color cast
#2 needs more contrast and also needs WB adjustment to correct the strong yellow color cast. Not a show stopper for me, but a tighter crop is preferable.

Hey guys

Thanks a lot for the comments.
I'll try to fix the second one and upload it again.
