It's much harder to get the lens to focus on everything through the window than just being outside since it's double layered. Plus the window also has to be clean and/or in great shape physically. The issue is most prominent on the AC and UA E175s linked above (many parts of the aircraft are out of focus).
Terminal windows are also tricky to deal with. Sometimes they are really thick and make the lens difficult to focus. Plus if the tint is strong enough, it's impossible to get rid of the color cast. Seems evident with a few of the WN B73Gs above.
