Definitely a double. In general: same day, same side, same photographer = double.

In addition to being a double, it would likely have drawn a motive rejection as well on account of the clipped main landing gear.

Good morning all, can I get an opinion on these photos please...Happy New year to all...

Image

Image

This 777 below is a re-submission - I was asked to give it a tighter crop, and give it a CW rotation - hopefully all ok now - please confirm.
Image

This A350 was rejected for being underexposed. I've added some brightness, please confirm now acceptable.
Image

This A320 was rejected for low contrast, and having a bit of cyan colour in the photo. (Interestingly I ran it past this forum here first (see above) and got the thumbs up for it). Please advise if ok now. Thank you!

Hello Arnold,

This one looks blurry towards the end of the stairs. Also noisy.

Hello Arnold,

AC looks high in frame, oversharpened parts, Qantas oversharpened parts, BA is blurry (front), Malaysia noise on engine nr 2, EW also some noisy parts. Greets Stefan

Image above should now show - the AA 777.

Also, have I got the centring correct on this one? -

It looks slightly low in frame to me. But for this image a 3:2 ratio would work better balance-wise I guess

Cut the distance between the tail and top of frame in half and centering should be spot on. Crop ratio works fine in 16:9 in my opinion, but that’s up to you.

Ok - as regards the Blue Air, I've made a tweak, and hopefully the centering is now acceptable....

Also, the AA 777 should be visible now below....is the cropping ok, and the photo acceptable? Many thanks...slowly but surely

Not seeing the tweak on the Blue Air. Still low in frame for me. Unable to see the AA photo.

Here is the blue air again hopefully with centering now correct. As for any blurryness on the nose, do you suggest further sharpening?

Blurriness unfortunately can rarely be fixed by additional sharpening. You might try editing it at a smaller size (1.e. 1024 pixels wide). Larger sized pictures tend to magnify flaws which can not be seen so well in smaller sized images.

Hello Arnold, to me there is some noise in the dark areas, especially engine and fuselage. The "United" sign looks a bit oversharpened to me (especially the "e" where there are some jaggies). The last windows might need some more sharpening, as well the cockpit windows and nose. Not sure about contrast, I think it`s okay. Not overexposed if you ask me.

Thank you Stefan.

Moving on to another one...I've had this BA A380 rejected before, and now that I have a little more experience, I have now re-edited it. I understand that the crop isn't ideal, but that notwithstanding, is it otherwise acceptable?

There should be no halos now, and the contrast & sharpening I hope, is about right...

The photo will likely get done for motive unless you can include the full hor.stab. and wing. The crop on the nose is a bit tight as well. Unable to comment on the quality (yet) as I'm not n my screening PC.

Hello Arnold.

I agree with Kas that the crop is unlikely to make it here because of the fact that the horizontal stabiliser is cropped - it does look awkward. I know how frustrating this is, when you cannot salvage the photo because the original is like this. But definitely something to bear in mind when you are taking photos such as these. Better to be slightly 'wide' and crop in a little than crop off bits of the plane at the point of pressing the shutter for these motives.

Also, I find my eyes drawn to the reg at the back of the aircdraft, which is definitely slightly blurred. So, for me, the screeners might also give it a 'blurry' rejection. I find taking a look at lettering on the aircraft (such as the reg) when zoomed in a little is a helpful strategy to judge whether or not you have a little blur in the image.

Good to see you striving for full independence with your editing. You can drop me another line if you think there is any further help I can offer - such as taking you through each of the steps I take in a particular edit.

All the best.

Paul

Thanks Paul! Managed to get a few more photos accepted - slowly but surely. Shame about the BA A380 I was actually leaving to go home, and suddenly saw this thing blast off, so whipped out my camera in a frenzy and only managed to get this one single shot of it.Oh well on to the next one.

Cheers,
Arnold.

Looks low in contrast for me. Image is also blurry, overexposed, needs a better crop on the left side, and needs CW rotation.

Crop looks alright, I would reduce the highlights by -20 (with maybe +10 whites) and give it an extra pass of sharpening.

Hello Arnold.

I definitely don't agree with Runway23L about the crop - to me that looks good as it is. Any further cropping to the left will cut into the wing flap and also the airline lettering. Looks level to me too. But I do agree with Kas that it doesn't look sharp as it currently is. I think you would need to see how it looks with some further sharpening.

I hope all is well and you are enjoying discovering Photoshop.

Cheers.

Paul

Sorry Paul, that was terrible judgment on my part regarding the leveling and crop. I just thought that it didn't look right. I probably would've expanded the crop to include the rest of that window, but I see what you are saying about the lettering and windows.

The aircraft crop is acceptable. However, it looks High in Frame. The aircraft is also visibly blurry (nose). I am not on my screening monitor to say for sure, but it appears to have a yellow-green color cast.

I would crop on the right side to avoid cutting off the window on the upper deck., or else you'd draw a rejection for "Motive". Looks blurry to me at this size. Might be better at 1200 pixels.

If I were you I would also remove noise from the air and tried to sharpen some lines less than you have done now (see some jaggies on cheatlines, etc)

Evening all...

Just had this Swiss Airlines rejected for 'Colour' with a personal message that it's too yellow.... I can't see the yellow, and in Lightroom, I've just checked, and the yellow was turned down significantly. I've also had the VS A330 below rejected twice for being too yellow, which I also can't see. Any pointers?

The sky in the two above looks too cyan, which typically results in whites looking too yellow/green. It's not always straight-forward but reducing the amount of green should put you in the right direction.

Hi Arnold,

The Swiss is certainly not yellow for me, just a bit overexposed/bright.
