I find that it is sometimes difficult to know exactly what you are referring to in your thread, because of the one line posts - so, in this last post, I don't know which photo you are referring to when you talk about the 'curvy lines'. So if you can be more specific that would really help.

As regards the post previous to the one about the heat, I would agree that you should pull the photos you have linked from the queue, because none of those are going to make it through screening I am afraid.

That photo is way too small to ever get accepted here, but it also seems to have quality issues.

Without sugar coating it, I would take Karl's advice to heart:

Really sorry, Wiggy, but once again it’s really difficult to understand what you are saying in your last couple of posts.

Sorry, but that site is going to get you nowhere. Best to download Lightroom and/or Photoshop.

In all honesty, I get the feeling that you don't really have any idea of what you are doing. I too would take Karl's advice if you want to see any sort of progress on your end.

Hello Wiggy.

I know how tempting it can be to want to get your photos accepted here right away. But for this to happen you need to have some confidence about how you are taking your photos generally - which is all about getting familiarity with your camera and the basics of photography and then, these days, learning how to edit your photos once out of the camera to get them looking their best. You then need to be clear in your own mind what type of images are going to get through the screening process here, and what isn’t. So far what you have shown us won’t get through screening. Standards are high here, so there’s no shame in taking some time to get up to the required standard.

Take a look at the website generally; though I am not suggesting I am the best model, have a look at my photos via the link under my post here. If you look through a few pages of these this will give you an idea about acceptable motives, if you are able to get to an airport (I tend not to do anything too fancy). You’ll see the kind of crops that are acceptable - including crops of wings - which are fine so long as the photo is balanced.

Well, simply put, you need to hold the camera still enough and use a shutter speed fast enough that will freeze any movement. If you can do that you have a reasonable chance.

would half the trouble be that the lens be dirty

A dirty lens will never help, but it's not the main cause of the lower quality in your photos.

after watching video on spotters in action i am looking at buying a canon 1500D

If there's a lot of wind, the image can still come out blurry. Even the slightest knock or vibration at your location can mess up the photo (depending on sturdyness of the tripod). If the focus is incorrectly set, the image will be out of focus (and thus appear blurry). If optimum settings are not used, the image can be blurry/out of focus. There are several reasons why this happens. A high-end camera won't fix this, although it may mask it a little. For moving aircraft, don't use a tripod. Practise steady hands.

I would really advise starting off with simple photos; sunny days, the sun behind you, the subject (aircraft) well within lens range, a shutter speed of 1/500 (or more) and an aperture of F8. Shoot Av mode. Doesn;t have to be static aircraft, can also be aircraft on approach that are within range of your lens.

Well the NX1 is far from an entry-level camera and is mirrorless, so nothing like the EOS 1500D. Wiggy, I don't want to sound harsh here but I'm beginning to suspect that you're either trolling or have absolutely no clue about what you actually want to do. Until such time as you've figured it all out (including how to take advice without needlessly spamming the forum) I doubt you'll motivate too many people to respond.

80 posts and we're still no closer to knowing what kind of camera/lenses you require and no closer to getting you some photos accepted.

Either camera you mention will be fine but one's entry-level and one's not. For me, Samsung wouldn't be the way to go as their lens selection is nowhere near as good as Canon's.

Get your 1500D, read the manual, learn about photography and have a look through the database at what's acceptable and what isn't.

Hi, Wig, I use Photoshop Elements. You have to buy it but it`s worth it, very easy to use and I use it for some years now. Good luck. Stefan

I'm currently using Adobe Photoshop CC2018.

I use Photoshop Elements as well (version 11) which serves my needs very well. I also use Dfine (Nik Software) for heavy duty noise reduction. But most of the time, the NR in PSE works quite well.

I still use Elements 5, from 2006. It's more than adequate.

Unless you're doing really low-light stuff or otherwise pushing boundaries you'll not need anything more than version 5.

You can upload it and then right-click the photo, copy the URL and paste it here. If the photo is not good enough, you can always delete it from the queue again.
