As for sharpening, are you sharpening in layers and using the eraser?
What values do you use for sharpening?
Can you walk us through your sharpening process?

thanks kas its a long story about sharpening I started using photoshop elements 2019 as a 30 day trial then it expired so when the photos open up when I click on it it doesn't have many tools to edit photos so I have been editing it on there as I don't have photoshop any more.

Very Over-sharpened espcially around the engines.
As Kas said, not ll images can be uploaded at 1920/larger than 1600, and this is one of the ones that needs to dip down to about 1400px.
HOWEVER, with the above fixes this one may be acceptable.
Maybe a touch more contrast would help too :)

Not too bad, the engines look a bit soft/slightly out of focus perhaps, but could be masked by using a smaller size. On the latter subject, stop using these large sizes. We've told you plenty times before now. Make this one 1200px (1400px wide maximum).

Perhaps send an example?

???

I'm talking about resizing, not cropping. You can just resize the entire photo and everything will stay the same, escept the size will be smaller. If your photo software the limiting factor, then get your hands on some decent editing software. It doesn't have to be expensive (if you get my drift).

What editing software do you use currently Wiggy?
Any version of Lightroom (except mobile) will do. Photoshop is nice but not necessary.

I would really recommend photo editing software where you have more options and/or control over the editing. And shoot RAW if your camera has it.

Do you have some way of getting Lightroom, through school, work?
If not, you should probably invest in LR which I believe comes with PS but I’m not sure.

Either way you must get some kind of editing software.

Yeah, that's about what I get out of my RAW files as well. Taking photos in RAW would always be my recommendation, especially if one knows how to use it to his/her advantage. You can do a lot of tweaking without ruining the file. It's pretty forgiving. There are likely tutorials on Youtube, but be careful not to overedit your images. A lot is trial and error. But you would still have to resize from 6000+ to around 1200-1600px wide.

RAW has a lot of capability, but the only time I use RAW is for night time high ISO photography. For all other situations (including the majority of my images for a.net) I use JPEG. JPEG is much easier to process and for my usage works well.

No, about size. But both are important, as an incorrect ratio will also result in a rejection, although we accept a variety of sizes/ratios.

Size is regarding the actual size (in pixels) of the photo. For example, 1200px wide, 1600px wide, etc.
Ratio has to do with the format (width vs height). For example, 3:2, 16:9, etc.

When you export, you should be able to enter the size you want. I would recommend a MAX of 1280 for your photos though.

https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/ai ... 74627e882f

All rejection reasons are correct to me.
However, we have all told you before Wiggy, your images can't support high sizes like this. 1280px max.
Also, make sure the quality slider is at 100, and you have sharpen for screen ticked, and set to high, if you're using LR.
If you're using PS, then I don't know how the export works and you will have to wait for someone else to answer that.

The photo might be salvagable and I would like to give it a try at editing. If you are OK with that, send me the original image (preferable RAW, otherwise JPG) at **username**[at]airliners.net and I'll have a look.

#1: Horizon (CW rotation, make the back treeline level,), also borderline cut off (I would crop wider), and maybe a little soft towards the tail, also OE.
#2: Possibly left in frame due to the wing, but may be ok, also a touch HIF.
#3: HIF, soft (particularly near the prop/front), but maybe passable lower in the frame.
#4: Horizon, Tail is soft, might be better at a smaller size.
#5: Backlit, no chance.

You don't exactly have the attitude that makes people want to go out of their way to help you. And you don't seem to be particularly good at listening as, several months down the line, it doesn't seem you're any closer to getting images accepted.

What you're basically saying above is that you aren't interested in hearing anything but praise. Okay. Fine. Your images are superb and will breeze into the database. Better?
