Quite overexposed and a sharp haloish line between the top fuselage and sky.

Thanks, I decided to bin that one after it was rejected.

Any feedback on this one from anyone?

Sky looks noisy at this size. Should work at a smaller size.

Hi, still a bit noisy sky to me. There are also slight halos around the plane (from editing probably) and two dust spots in the upper half of the sky. Visible when shifting the picture around in editing software.

Yes, agree with the halos especially viable around the wing.

Thanks for the feedback.

I deleted that one and uploaded a new one from the same set, with only cropping and exposure +0.15 as the extent of my editing:

Any thoughts on this one? Rejected for oversharp and overexposed, but it looked fine on all the screens I saw it on.

The Gulf Air 787 looks fine to me. Do not see over-sharpening nor over exposure

There are dark halos around the aircraft, especially visible when equalizing (but also visible by eye). Also 2 dust spots in the sky, top left sector. Sky is noisy. Sorry.

Nice catch with the Gulf Air, I was on the LH flight that landed about 20 minutes before it, so I was stuck in customs when it came in :(

Thank you! It was indeed a highlight spot of the year for me. It was there overnight and left the next afternoon, were you aware of that?

Any tips on where the halo comes from? I hardly did any editing on the photo. Is it a camera defect that the sky is noisy? My settings were:
ƒ/7.1
350.0 mm
1/1250
320 ISO <- Is this too high?

Regarding the settings....
Personally, I don’t go above iso 200 in the daylight unless I absolutely must, that being said, iso 320 isn’t a problem, there’s not much noise added between 100 and 320.
Also, I try and stay at or above F8 for DOF purposes, the whole image looks sharper at F8 vs F5 for example.

You should ideally check which f stop your lens is sharpest at, not every lens is the same. Typically it's sharpest in f/8 to f/11 range but that's not always the case.

Regarding the halos, Nikon cameras have a function that should be switched off for aviation photography. It that's not it, then it has to be your editing workflow.

blurry towards the back, right in frame, insufficient quality for this size and well overedited in general.
