New Photographer Question

Thu Apr 25, 2019 9:10 pm

Hi all, just starting to get into aviation photography, and I am looking for some guidance. I recently submitted this photo with minimal editing and it was rejected (which is fine). I'd like advice on whether it is possible to get this photo to an acceptable quality or if consensus is that it is too low-quality to get there. I appreciate any and all feedback!

Am unable to access the full size image. Would be happy to provide some feedback if I could see the full sized image that you uploaded. Looking at the thumbnail, the image is underexposed and high in the frame.

Cheers,

Probably unable to open it because it was rejected. Is there any better way to post a photo that hasn't been accepted into the database?

You can try linking it via an external hosting site. I use Imagur.com

The photo will most likely never make it: photo is blurry, there is noise/grain present on the aircraft; possibly low contrast; photo is dark/backlit.

Sorry to say, but the quality is well below par and this photo will never make it. All the above assessments are correct.

The best thing you can do to get a feel of what this site requires is to have a look through the first couple of pages of images, via the search function.

There's no point in sugar coating it: your image is a long way off the standard required here and it's important to understand what's acceptable and what's not. The above advice should be the first step, followed by your learning basic photography techniques.

Believe me, I'm not being rude, but being told bluntly is often the best way to improve.

Cheers,
Karl
