Hi Daniel,
Sorry for the late reply for your issue. I just checked the log to find the comment screener gave you.
" Category Cargo needed." is the P.M. for you since you missed the Cargo category when upload.
Sorry for the inconvenience about having trouble in receiving Emails. If you got the same situation next time, you are welcome to send an Email to [email protected] to ask for details. Would be faster to get reply for this kind of problems ; )

Sincerely,
Harry

A little more brightness and contrast needed: check histogram for guidance. Also, a speck in the sky: top and right of center. Also looks, slightly low in the frame. All fixable.

Hi, I'm wondering if this shot has any potential. Was taken a long time ago and when I didn't really know Anet existed. Would love to get this on the database as it's history now. My only concern is the crop.

The crop makes it inadmissible on its own, however, there is also some weird sort of haze, like blur and OS mixed into one. Not fixable.

Thanks for pointing out the weird hazing effect on it. I just wanted to know more about the crop. Cause I've seen some really nice images on the database with the cropping similar to that, in regards to chopping off the horizontal stabiliser.

The stabilizer is fine, its the nose wheel being cut that is the issue.

Agree with Tim. The cropped nose gear makes this one a non-starter. I see the haze as well--makes the main title look blurry for me.

I can see quality issues for each but no heat-haze. I believe I've been to this spot (Int'l terminal, PER?) and you are too close/elevated for heat-haze to be an issue.

Not heat haze, but optical haze. I see over-sharpening in all 3 though. Lots of jaggies in the titles and leading edge of vertical stabilizer.

I'm aware of the GPU blocking approximately <50% of the nose wheel, would this get rejected for motive.

Thanks, Daniel

H Daniel,

I consulted the Acceptance Guide, and per the description for Motive Rejections, this one would get declined for the obstruction to the nose gear. The <50% blockage allowance is for terrain. The standards as defined for gate/ramp shots is more stringent.

Hi,
Obviously I'd love to (possibly) upload an image of A7-BAE in the FC Barcelona livery. A full aircraft isn't possible due to a bit of the nose wheel being cutoff, so I've gone for a different crop showcasing the livery in all it's glory. I'd love to know if this sort of crop is acceptable at Anet.

Technically acceptable given that there are no obstructions or major parts cropped. But screener discretion may play a part. Personally, I'm not a fan. It feels like the front of the aircraft is "missing". Unusual to see a crop from the tail forward at this angle which keeps leading my eye towards the lower right corner expecting to see more of the aircraft. It may appeal to others...for me? Not so much. Just my opinion.

Hi Daniel,

This 757 image seems to have some heat haze along the top side of the aircraft even in this small size. The light isn't favored a lot in this case, top side of the aircraft seems very bright, rest part looks quiet underexposed. It would be hard to make it IMO.

Harry

Contrast of the A346 looks fine for me, but the exposure seems overexposed since it's hard to recognize the edge of the a/c and the background bright sky in this case. I would try to reduce tad highlight / exposure to see if it would be better.

Your histogram is a guide (but ONLY a guide). It's much more of a challenge to properly judge exposure when the light is poor — the histogram becomes less useful. Most of it is just how it looks to the eye to be honest. Your SAA image isn't overexposed per se but the light is awkward, meaning that if you reduce the overall exposure you risk making the bulk of the fuselage too dark. If it were my image it'd be going into the personal collection only.

Vietnam is fairly backlit, unfortunately a no-go. Also has a yellow cast.

I'm not well-versed on gate shots so I'll defer to the others on those.

Hi Daniel,

The current version seems overexposed to me actually especially the body of the a/c and the background cloud.Little bit hard to distiguish the margin of the a/c and the sky at the top edge of the a/c. If this one was taken after sunset as you mentioned, I would not add lots of exposure or brightness when edit to make it as bright as I can.
There's a option named "Night / Dusk / Dawn" which is suitable for this kind of situation ( When the sun is lower than the horizon). Selecting this option would make us to re-consider the standard that we would make toward your photos since the photographying conditions have been changed.
For me, I would tend to make it as nature as I can. Hope that helps !

Sincerely,
Harry
