Prescreening - NorthStarDC4M

First Centering...

https://imgur.com/dypYKg2

I'm really pulling hairs... no matter where I try to center this it looks.... well... off? Any tips for centering something like this? And any pre-screening tips for it?

Just general pre-screening?

C-GKTA: Centering looks OK. However it needs a closer crop or will be rejected for "Distance". Image is also soft and blurry and has some glare by the cockpit. I would reject it in its present state.
UR-GOA: Aircraft is over-sharpened; A tad low in the frame but passable.

Ok trying PR-GOA again...

Done again from raw (.NEF).

The new edit looks blurry to me, plus the angle of the light is not that good.

Leading edge and wingtip looks very blurry, probably not salvageable tbh.

Ok trying a different angle for C-GKTA, seemed too dark on my first viewing but processed the .NEF file and it was much better...

Still not sure how to get a good center on a plane like a Dash 8?

The centering looks acceptable to me. The Dash -8 from this angle is tricky due to the size of the tail. Much of the fuselage (bottom) is underexposed due to the angle of the light. I'm not on my screening monitor, so I cannot comment on soft/blurry characteristics.

Exposure is acceptable for me. However, the image now needs some additional contrast. Anytime you increase the brightness or lighten the shadows, typically you'd need to add some contrast to keep the image looking balanced.

Trying something new...

Worth trying or? Still trying to get a idea of calibrating colors and sharpness for here.

Looks very soft and flat (low contrast). I also see a slight magenta color cast. This one will not make it in it's current form.

I'm not up to this... I give up until I have the patience to deal with re-learning.

Bad light making correct exposure tricky (i.e. likely to draw a 'dark' rejection in its current state). Looks soft too (at best — maybe even blurry but impossible to tell at that size).

The GLF4 looks soft and low contrast. But as Karl mentioned, the light isn't doing you any favors. The sun from your back will get you better results for photos as this.
