Rejected for distance

Wed Aug 14, 2019 8:51 pm

I had a new reg rejected for "Distance." I thought it was a mistake; the HS confirmed it was not a mistake, and that it was "an easy fix."

Could this image be cropped tighter? Sure, i could crop it right up to the nose and the stab, but it is an unbelievable rejection.

Perhaps a little on the wide side on the right, but still passable for me.

That thread is about crops on stabilizers and wings. Not applicable here at all.

My response in that thread is very relevant as it covers rejections just like this one, and the subjectivity of the 'distance' rule. It's along similar lines, regardless of motive — I fail to see why anyone would think it not applicable.

I agree there is a bit more space around the plane than normally. I would crop a bit tighter and yes it`s easy to improve.

The ANA 777 over the sea that recently won PC has an exceptionally wide crop so where is the consistency?

What’s the motive got to do with it?
