Reject - soft

Sun May 10, 2020 3:17 pm

Hi all,

I just got this photo rejected as soft:

https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/ai ... 54cc8d45d8

Can anybody point out the soft areas and how this photo is less sharp compared with e.g. this photo: https://www.airliners.net/photo/VivaAer ... /5836159/L (exact same date, location, but a different photographer).
Thanks in advance.

The windowline looks a bit soft to me.

Thanks, do you think it looks softer than the (accepted) photo of Yoshio?

It looks good to me, but then I haven't uploaded anything here in ages because I got tired of what a crap shoot screening can be.

The accepted shot looks marginally (and I mean only MARGINALLY) sharper on my screen but I really have to pixel-peep to see it.

Thanks, and would you say the difference is big enough to accept the one and reject the other?

Hi,

Your photo actually looks fine for sharpness IMO, and you should understand that sometimes our screeners would have different opinions on some subjective reasons like sharpness. As far as I can tell is that your photo and the one by another photographer were screened by different screener in this case. Sharpness between yours and his is not so significant from my side. As Stefan mentioned that the windows look bit of soft. Reason causes that I can think of is the angle between yours and his is a little bit different, which probably would make it seems softer to some extent, not siginificantly IMO.
Applying slight sharpness to it would be better though.

Sincerely,
Harry
