bnoble feedback

Thu May 28, 2020 6:50 pm

Hi everyone,
First time using the forum, although I have been using A.net for a while. I recently got the following image accepted (https://www.airliners.net/photo/Untitle ... T2/6035529). However, upon submitting it to another website, they rejected it for backlighting. I wanted to get a second opinion: is it really backlit or is the other website wrong. Thanks!

Looks fine to me. If the other website starts with a J, expect a lot of similar rejections on that site.

Not really backlight but not ideal light either. Curious how it got accepted here though as it looks blurry (e.g. top of the tail) and oversharped.

Some slight jaggies on the rotor blades, but not show stopping. Lighting looks fine. New registration as well to the site.

Thanks for the feedback Jehan. Should I submit a new version with slightly less sharpening?

Brady,
Do you mean resubmit a better version to a.net, or the other site? If the former, it is not necessary, unless you really want to. Just use the reupload function.

If the latter, I can’t speak for the acceptance criteria of the other site. For me at a.net, it’s well within acceptable standards. If they have an option similar to our “Appeal” function, perhaps that might be an opportunity to have them take another look. If backlighting was the only issue, sounds like you have a reasonable chance of getting it accepted.

I’d be interested in knowing the outcome.

Regards,

Jehan

I was referring to Airliners, but if its not a big deal, I'll leave it be. I also did use the appeal function and it got in, so it must have been a mistake. Thanks for the help!

Hi,
Would a screener mind pre-screening the following images currently awaiting review?

6041941
6041945
6041947 (On a side note, does this count as a "classic airliner?")
6041951

Thanks!

Hi there Brady,

My thoughts:

6041941: Will get rejected for Motive due to the cover; aircraft with covers are only accepted if it is the first submission. There is already an image of the aircraft (also covered) from 2014.
6041949: Has a red/yellow color cast. I'd recommend correcting it.
6041947: Looks acceptable to me
6041951: Looks acceptable to me.

Regards,

Jehan

On 2 side notes, should I label the Trans-Canada as a classic airliner? Also, would it be best to label the PC-12 as "Planesense" or "Untitled"? I have gotten Planesense aircraft accepted with both labels. Thanks!

My apologies for not answering the above questions...

Yes, mark the Connie as a "Classic Airliner." You wont get a rejection for incorrectly designating this since screeners can make corrections to this field. If there are other flaws with the image, you will likely be told that the "Category" is wrong with a message saying "Please Other mark as "Classic"".

The PC-12, mark as Airline as "Untitled" and Owner as "Private." If titles are not on the aircraft, always mark as "Untitled." Some airlines have unmarked aircraft. If you know them to belong to an airline, then list the airline in the second field. E.g. if it is a DHL cargo B737 that is all white with no titles on the fuselage, if you mark it as recommended, it will then appear as "Untitled (DHL)." Sometimes, the titles are inconspicuous. In that case, it it is visible, always list the airline in the primary slot. I believe the Acceptance Guide explains this in detail.

Unfortunately, the Screening Team cannot edit/modify the Airline filed. Therefore, if that is incorrectly designated, it will be rejected. The "Owner" field can be modified/revised by the screeners. If that's the only issue, we simply correct it and accept the image.

Jehan

Hi all, I really want to get the American Airlines retro livery in, but the light was very poor the day I took the photo. Is there anything I should adjust in this?

Would like to confirm if it's Cessna 608A taken at JXN ? Although it's ok to do so, highly recommend you to post links in the threads so that everyone can provide their thought on it if you like ! Since we, screeners, are not fully online to check here frequently. As a result, our replies would be slowly. Hope you can understand ; )

Cheers,
Harry

That one looks pretty soft for me especially the nose gear area. Besides, it also looks low contrast and underexposed for me probably due to the poor weather situation I guess. If you want to make adjustments on it, ensure don't make more noise in sky.

6160563: Overall looks ok for me. There is a bird-like thing above the aircraft, which would be better to be removed IMO. Since it's hard to be recognized even in some large screen. Probably would lead to Dirty Rejection.

6160565: A visible dirty circle spot in the upper left corner. Otherwise, looks ok.
6160571: Fine for me.
6160573: Severe halo surround the aircraft especially upper edge. (Black edges); Slightly Oversharpened for me as well.
6160577: Fine for me.

I just took a look at it. The body looks blurry and oversharpened at some parts as well due to blurry. Probably would be better with a better angle in this series.

I would do so although the second one does look marginal at quality respect ( Sky has bit of noisy ). The first one (71), I can't recognize obvious borders and heat haze.

Banners for new schemes is only for airlines and armed forces. It does not apply for Private or Business aircraft.

Hi,
I have this new photo, and I am wondering if the heat haze is bad enough that it won't get accepted. I presume yes, but it is always good to get another opinion. I could not figure out how to add a photo, but here it is on another site if that helps: https://www.planespotters.net/photo/114 ... ng-717-23s

No need for "Night/Dusk/Dawn" category for this case. Sunlight situation looks pretty enough from the picture you showed. Only need to select the "Colorful/Special Paint" from the category. Since there's already an existing related information for this aircraft, just ensure that you are choosing the right one from Autofill.

If you're talking about the jet-wash coming off the engines, it should not be an issue. It adds a nice and dramatic touch. The image however looks like it could use some CW rotation.

Hi all, I have a question regarding info. I have a photo of CC-ASL in the queue right now. The autofill has the manufacturer as "Raytheon", but I am wondering if it should be "Beech" instead?
