Post-screening — oversharp

All,

Rejected for oversharp. Looking now I can see a few jaggies I didn't notice last night (flap fairings, red part of the tail, titles) but what puzzles me is the screener comment: "Try uploading at lower resolution". Lowering the resolution won't mitigate oversharpening (if anything it'll worsen it) — since there were no other rejection reasons I'm failing to understand how the image would benefit from being smaller. Quality is certainly there for 1900 pixels.

The image shows jaggies in various places and shows it clearly at this large size. The recommendation by the screeners to try a smaller size is that that it would perhaps mask some of the jaggies. At 1900 pixels everything is clear in view, but also magnifies any minor flaws.

Fair enough, but wouldn't another solution be to just tone down the sharpening and retain the 1900 pixels? The comment was a bit ambiguous and led me to believe the screener deemed the overall quality to be insufficient.
