Pre-Screen

Fri Aug 20, 2021 5:53 pm

Good afternoon,
This one was rejected (second time) for low contrast. I played with the tone sliders a bit since then, but now, to my eye on my monitor, it looks to have too much contrast, so I could use some help/feedback.

(note, first rejection also included low in frame, and oversharpened, which I hope I corrected)

These ones are new, trying to figure out which one to submit (Same helicopter, a few minutes apart so I think I could only submit one)

Thank you for any feedback. Cheers.

Hello Musicman,

The fist image looks contrasty to me as well. Marginally passable for me if I was to screen it.

The series of the chopper all need more contrast. None of them would be acceptable IMO.

Regards,

Good afternoon,
Thank you so much for your feedback.
I pulled back on the crop duster's (1) contrast and added a bit to the helicopter's (2).

The crop duster looks acceptable to me. The chopper seems to show a slight yellow color cast. Otherwise, it looks OK for me.

Regards.

THank you so much. I would not have seen the yellow tint, but I see it now. Cheers.

Hello Musicman,

The crop is passable, but if possible, I would crop closer to the ends of the horizontal stabilizer. It would avoid some dead space on either side. I realize you may not have vertical room to crop in this manner. I also think aircraft looks a bit soft and could benefit from some sharpening.

Good afternoon,
Thank you so much for the feedback. For this photo of the Falcon, there was equipment blocking my view of the left wingtip, so I was forced to frame the photo how I did. I am already at a 4x3 ratio, so I can't crop any narrower based on A.net rules (I would use close to a 1x1 ratio if this were for my wall at home or something).

I did sharpen it slightly this time, I hope it is not over-done.

Cheers, and thank you.

Sharpening looks fine for me.
