Most of what determines whether a photo is accepted, what brings it from good to great, is in the editing. There are two things that jump out here that I believe a screener would flag:
1. Blurriness - The image simply isn't sharp enough to be accepted in its current state. This is related to the overall graininess of the photo. I believe tools exist that can help both of these.
2. Something is off about the difference between the highlights and shadows; I can't quite put my finger on it. The back of the aircraft seems almost overexposed, while the shadows of the aircraft (particularly under the wing near the engine and under the front fuselage) are very dark. I believe lightening the shadows and reducing the exposure a bit (or maybe just reducing the highlights) will benefit this image.
