I know the light on this one is a bit flat. I thought that the cloud pattern in the background was interesting and could get me some "Style" points. I'd also appreciate any general comments.

Your right I like that interesting cloud formation.
It does seem a little low in the frame. Maybe you can work on the contrast,

Looks oversharpened on my screen in a bunch of areas: "UNITED" title, outboard half of the wing, vertical stab, some of the bottom of the fuse, the doors.

Thanks, I very much appreciate your feed back. Oversharpening is a problem that I continually struggle with.

I too struggle with sharpening sometimes but I'll give my opinion with regard to other areas...
I like the shot. Bit more contrast, and a boost of saturation and I think it'll be okay. I'd also be tempted to shift it up in the frame slightly. And of course resolve any over-sharp issues.

+3 for oversharpened. That's the main issue here, not the contrast, which should be fine.

Another vote for oversharpened. It gives the impression of almost being a painting, rather than a photograph.
