Pre-screening: General (Dysko)

Sat Nov 05, 2011 7:15 pm

Would this shot be considered backlit? The sun was right on the top of the plane:

Also, would this shot be rejected for motive due to the wheelchair lift?

Please don't consider sharpness/exposure etc., I'll try to get them right before uploading the shots.
Thank you for your answers!

Yes, plus I think you should crop tighter.

Borderline, but the real killer is the heat haze.

Yes.

Unfortunately both would be rejected for reasons other than the exposure/sharpness, so not much point in working on those areas.

Thank you, Dana. Looks like I shouldn't bother uploading those shots.

Another question: would this be rejected for motive? The rejection would be caused by the fence, the chopped pitot tube (I chopped it voluntarily because I thought it would unbalance the shot, bu I have another shot with the whole pitot tube) or by the fact that it's not a complete airplane?

For motive, I don't think the fence would cause any issues. When fences are unavoidable (i.e. ones very close to static aircraft) we generally make allowances for them. It would be better not to crop the pitot tube, though I understand how you are trying to balance it. Motive notwithstanding, there are other issues that would also need to be resolved such as color, softtness, and level.
