Hi,

First one is dirty, flat and soft.
The second is dark, blurry and soft and dirty also.

Still multiple dust spots on the first, and at least one on the second.

Another shot:

Soft, and very low contrast.

First isn't dirty any more, but will be borderline for grainy/quality. Second should be ok. Third still has low contrast.

That totally depends on what is causing the quality problems in the first place, which could be any number of things: poor lens, atmospheric conditions, shooting through glass, etc...

Second one is a little bright but should otherwise stand a good chance. The first has issues with contrast (low) and sharpening (too much), while the third is pretty badly backlit and probably not fixable.

I'll scrap the SAS and EC Air and put the Air Berlin in queue.

I'll put links instead, so it doesn't slow down the loading of the page.

The light (bad weather) won't work for the last 2 (Thai & JAL).

As this is not fixable they probably don't have a chance of acceptance.
So better leave it for good and try to catch them again with more favourable conditions.

The first one looks okay to me, but my monitor is terrible, so better wait for another opinion.

I see little difference between the three, so why would the first be ok, but not the last two?

Quoting JKPhotos (Reply 16):

Why would it not be fixable? It would only need adjustments to the exposure/contrast.

They are also soft and have multiple large dust spots. The foreground tree(s) are not adding much, so better to avoid them if possible.

You unsharpened it? Being soft implies that you should sharpen it more. In any case, the quality still looks borderline, as you can see it gets soft toward the edges. There is some chromatic aberration visible there as well, which would indicate the lack of quality is likely due to your lens.

Quoting SGAviation (Reply 26):

I sharpened it after your comment in Reply 23. The link in 24 got broken, then after DL747 commented, I unsharpened it very slightly.

I guess it is time to upgrade the lens.

I really would like to upload that QF A332 since it's new (delivered just this morning in SYD from TLS via SIN)

Omg, ok.

I don't know what I did during editing to cause those halos. (Maybe I shouldn't have played Beyonce's 'Halo' on repeat)

I think it was because of the shadow/contrast settings, I'm not too sure.

I reworked on it from the original file and this is the result:

The Kalitta 747 was accepted.

The Singapore A333 was rejected because of the sky being grainy. If I sharpened the sky, would it work?

The Emirates A332 was rejected for blurry nose.

Looks a tad soft toward the front, and noisy. Also might be a bit flat. I am assuming this was at a higher ISO, as it looks very grainy.
