There are four of us, and believe it or not, from time to time we do not see things exactly the same way. Frustrating yes, but so it goes with such a subjective endeavour. While we try our best to be as consitent as possible, you would be expecting the impossible if you thought it could be any other way.

Nah, it's understandable when you have dozens of people screening. I'd rather there be differing opinions and standards than some cookie-cutter nonsense that would see the DB fill up with samey boring shots.
(that said: I still yearn for more clarity on SOME issues, such as grain, white balance and centering)

Yep. No worries. Like my old man says - try harder, try better.
To that end, here's a revised edit for the C-17, which was also rejected on appeal, with a personal comment stating that grain is ok but contrast is still low.

I need some help deciding between a pair of images. They'd b considered doubles, so I need to know which stands a stronger chance of being accepted.
Approach:
Belly:
I'm leaning toward the belly shot at the moment because there's more airplane in the frame and it has better contrast than the head-on shot. Also, as far as I can tell, this is the first shot of IN305 for the database.

IN313 (the Tu-142MKE) has one other photo in the DB, but there are no photos of IN305.
I have some more photos, I'll see if any of those are better. They're unfortunately on a hard drive in another city, so I'll have to wait until next week till they get to me.
Meanwhile, I have a Kiran formation that I think looks all right (still that weird side-lighting though)
I cropped to 4:5 on this one because of the way it's framed, hope that's acceptable.
