Alright imma ditch this batch then. Damn rain screwed things up.

I can do a ccw rotation but I would have to recrop it.

I'll see what I can do next time.

Rotated and contrasted.
I'm using Picasa, and in order to preserve the quality of the photo I need to pretty much start over from scratch before I make changes. If something's not right here tell me.

Stuff I can work out in time. I took multiple shots in a row when she was departing; does that have an effect on the quality?

I have to say I disagree with that. Creating a photoshop file where you can incrementally change things is a much more effective (and much less time consuming) way to fine-tune an image than starting all over from scratch again. Lets say an image needs a little more sharpening - it's much better to start with your saved PSD and add a little sharpening rather than start from scratch and guess at how much it needs since you already did it once.

I don't know how Picasa works, I've used Photoshop since the 90s for everything, does it allow you to save as a TIF or make a provision for layers?

You can add "not centered" and "soft" to Dana's response. What kind of lens are you using?

Quoting PHX787 (Reply 64):

As Dana says, no, but shooting a bunch of frames very quickly (but not in burst mode) may not give your camera time to properly focus, depending on how you are shooting or the focus modes of your camera.

It looks a bit soft/flat to me. Also, it might just be my eyes/monitor, but I am seeing a halo along the lower side and around the landing gear.

Definitely flat and soft. I see a bit of a halo, but the image looks workable to me if the nose gear is very soft, not blurry as it looks now. If it is blurry, not much chance.

Here's one more. I took it last night. Practicing some night photography.

HND is difficult to photograph at night because it's difficult to set up a tripod there.

Ok I have more different angles of this particular situation. Give me a few days to cram out some edits on them.

Quoting mjgbtv (Reply 96):

well what I had to do, I had to set the tripod to "small" mode (about a foot tall instead of the 3ft6in maximum) , then I had to force the lens through cables on the viewing platform, and in order to produce a steady shot I had to hold the tripod in place on the ledge. The ledge is about waist high, and the cables are in awkward positions....

So do you think the tripod ended up being steady or not? Where I am going with this is that the image looks like it might have been taken at a higher ISO, so I was wondering why that would have been necessary...

Yeah I believe it indeed was at a high ISO. I set this thing to auto but tweaked the in-camera size and aperture a bit, and i think it auto-setted to high ISO. and I'm not so sure the tripod was steady. When I did long-exposure shots, they ended up being a little blurry.
