Three Times Soft?

Mon Nov 04, 2013 10:21 pm

Got rejected a complete upload-session with a soft-rejection and I am wondering about!

Especialy the first two ones were rejected with a notice:
"Soft and/or out of focus, over-sharpened to compensate soft personal"
And the P3c-Picture is the second picture of this photosession with soft!

The third picture was also rejected with dark. Did the screener mentioned the weather? So for me it does not look to dark?

The last one looks way too saturated to me.

@epten

but it was not rejected with this! And by the way it was the real light-and color-condition.

It is quiet funny that I have the oppinion that the screening sytem ist working like a wave. Some weeks everything will be accepted, the other week nothing

Whilst there can be inconsistency in screening - it is a human process with varying opinions after all, there can also be inconsistent editing too.
I am afraid that you are a victim of inconsistent editing, not of screening as to me (as an ex Screener), all of the rejections are valid.
The personal for the P3 is short and succinct. I would have added colour to the F4 as there is a reddish cast, very correctable.
The Tornado is soft and dark and has a greeny-yellow cast. It is plain to see that the weather was bad which can sometimes means that a photograph you take may never be acceptable here. This looks like one of those to me!
The Cub is dark and grainy. Like Epten, it looks oversaturated to me too and increasing saturation or abuse of the curve or shadow-highlight will increase grain (more technically noise). The dark side of the aircraft is rather bright for a contre-jour shot and it looks as though it has been lightened in editing either with curve or shadow-highlight as a likely explanation for the Screener, Epten and my own observations
The Cessna has been underexposed in camera (all the snow fools the exposure meter) and as a result it is dark - the snow and white of the aircraft is a soft grey rather than white and it is a little soft.
