Post-screening: Air Force One

Thu Jul 10, 2014 5:27 am

This one was rejected for soft and centered, with a personal comment "low in frame". Do you think it's appealable/salvageable? Since AF1 usually doesn't visit BIS, it was a rare time for us (I realize not rare in the a.net sense)

Screener is correct on it being soft and low in frame. The only way that particular image would be salvageable is if you had cropped the image at all. I personally would also try and work on that grain... Looks like it might also be suffering from compression.

Hi,

I agree with Len, but I'll also add that there is a very strong purple or blue cast in the sky. Once again, interesting how some issues slip by the screening...

There's also significant noise that I'm surprised wasn't mentioned at the time of rejection. It will need some noise reduction.

Agreed, major colour cast, I'm also surprised it wasn't flagged in addition to the other reasons.

And just to throw my two cents in, it really doesn't look too low in the frame to me. On the low end, but I would have thought acceptable.

Definitely noisy, though.
I'm watching Jeopardy. The category is worst Madonna songs. "This one from 1987 is terrible".

Thanks guys. It was taken with my old camera so I was hoping the quality was there, but most likely it's not. Too bad since it was a rare occasion to shoot

I wouldn't give up yet. Nothing mentioned above should necessarily be a show-stopper.
