I've had a lot rejections recently, including many for soft. These are the pick of a confusing set.

"heat haze quality grainy soft oversharpened"

I don't see grain at all and I'm not sure how it can be soft and oversharpened. If it is heat hazed, there is no more haze than other accepted images.

I don't see heat haze affecting aircraft at all. In the background yes but not on the aircraft.

Dark is clearly an error, as is grainy but I'm struggling to see soft.

The first one looks a bit grainy in the sky, but otherwise grain does not look like an issue to me.

I agree that they all look soft, although not necessarily oversharpened.

I am not sure about the heat haze. The top of the A350 does look a bit distorted. For the others maybe a slight motion blur or else needing to crop a bit too much?

Definitely the A350 you can see the heat haze on the top of the aircraft, on the wing, tail where it reads out A350, all looks so.

Second pic, slightly but not a lot but it is noticeable and possibly blurry too!

3rd, trust me I used to wonder myself where is the softness in images but now I tend to see it. It is soft pretty much all over and agree with the dark as well.

I think I must have really lost touch with the acceptance requirements. I look at accepted images and this forum and see little or no difference in the images I'm uploading. It must be the only hobby that after 14 years of trying I am actually getting worse.

I stopped uploading for 6 months and I think it's now time to join the many others who don't bother uploading at all any more. It simply isn't worth the effort. I have some from Fairford that can join the rejection list in a few days time then I think that will be that.

Never give up. No matter what path you chose there will be challenges. Don't turn away from the challenege just because it is so... try to convince yourself there is something to learn. I too used to get frustrated with certain rejections. I still do but not as often. I have learned a tremendous amount by being rejected over and over again. It does give you a better appreciation for what THIS SITE is looking for. It is NOT what is accepted to be the BEST way to edit or present a photo. It is simply the choice A.net has made.

From time to time, a rejection will seem unwarranted. Appeal it. You may find that if it wasn't outside the boundaries, the head screeners will accept it. Mistakes do happen.

I will only comment on your A350 shot. The aircraft is soft unfortunately. It is also low in frame to my taste and perhaps the screeners as well (although not mentioned. The crop motive is also questionable. I would have either gone much tighter or pulled back to show more of the plane.

Try a USM pass at 400 0.2 in Photoshop and see how the titles improve.

Lastly the heat distortion is clearly visible in the top of the fuselage.

I hope you will choose to stay and continue to perfect your craft to the A.net standards of posting. A lot of gems are uploaded everyday by all photographers amateur or professional.
