Backlit

Do you think this will get a backlit rejection or will be fine?

For backlit, I've seen equivalent accepted, but it's no sure thing. But aside from that, it would certainly get rejected for quality, compression, soft, and maybe high in frame.

No. Quality, compression and soft, distance, and maybe blurry.

Keep in mind I'm assuming the images you posted are the actual edits you would submit.

The way they look at the images I think that the first one is borderline (it's not really backlit it's top lit). the second one is not backlit at all - great slow shutter speed image. They might reject it for contrast though.
