Hi,

in my very amateurish eye this is over-exposed.
Drop your highlights a touch!

Look at where the vertical stabilizer connects to the fuselage, I think a lot more detail could be seen if you drop your highlights and / or exposure! Same for the side of the left engine, for instance.

I would bump up your contrast a bit too, knowing A-net's preference!

Cheers,

Hello Gasman,

I would say it is a bit soft (titles, although that's not my best quality to spot), it's clipped a bit too tight around the wings, it might need a little bit of cw rotation, looks like it's a bit effected by heat haze. Is the original okay? If not try I would try 1024x. Now wait for the experts opinions...

Bye

It needs roughly 0.5 degrees of cw rotation and it is overexposed.
Sharpness and contrast look good to me as well as the crop.

Bit of a yellow color cast. Apart from that it looks good to me.

Still slightly present. Try to get the white "pure white" and you'll be fine.

Now this raises a question that's been bugging me. Clicking the white balance dropper on the fuselage *should* make it pure white shouldn't it? But it doesn't!

Yes, it should but some softwares do it better than others.

There is still a yellow cast and the blue cheatline looks jagged

Why are we trying to get pure white?

Looks like a late afternoon shot. Slight to moderate yellow/orange is pretty normal. The most recent edit looks perfectly normal, color-wise.

That is a decision that has been taken back in the days when Johan was still running the show and the site stuck to it. Just like "pure white" for nights shots. You may, and probably will, get photos accepted with some color cast in low light conditions but if you want to make real sure "pure white" will get you there.

Thierry

Oh I know that, but if you look at my uploads, very few of them are white balanced to pure white, simply because I try to match the existing conditions when I took the photo.

A.net's been pretty good about accepting them, for the most part. I've had shots accepted that had FAR more color cast than Gasman's.

But, it's obviously the individual uploader's choice!
