Picture was rejected because of distance. The crop is indeed not on the inch but for me it Still is ok.
What do you guys find? Is it worth to appeal or do I have to make a tighter crop and re-upload

I'd say no.
Personally I like it as it is, but this doesn't matter in this case as for airliners.net it is a bit too loosely cropped.

Halve the gap on both sides, move it a bit higher in the frame and it should be OK.

Image is NOT low in frame. 218 pixels from top of frame to the top of the fuselage and around the same number of pixels from the bottom of the gear to the bottom of the frame.
Tighten the crop on both sides and it should be fine.

It's often discussed here that center is not judged by any technical means, but is instead based on the way one interprets the image themselves... No need to explain this to you I'm sure, but I usually think of trying to physically balance the photo on it's center, not making the top or bottom seem to visually "heavy". In this case, the darker buildings at the bottom combined with more "mass" of the plane below the centerline lead it to be low in frame.

That said, while the image appears slightly low in frame to me, I don't think it's rejectably so, especially given that there was supposed to be some more lenience for that as of a year or two ago, if memory serves.

But if he re-edits it anyway, he might as well take into account that he could frame it a bit higher.

I know there is leniency and it is extremely subjective. Rules on centering are written that way now. I tend to feel the fuselage of the aircraft should fall in the center of the image, which is how it is stated when you review the rejection guide for centering. Over time the off centered exceptions have been added and a lot of screener discretion Is now at play. I'm sure you can have a group of 10 screeners on this and half will say it is fine while the other half will say it is low and reject it for that.
With all this said, the building gives the appearance of a low in frame, however it measures out not being low. OP went according to the guide for centering and put the fuselage in the center of the frame.
Just my $0.02 on it. Not looking to flame a war or hijack a thread, just offering input.

Possibly, unless he centered it exactly as he wanted to center it.
Plus, I probably wouldn't re-edit for that rejection, assuming quality wasn't marginal. I'd just open the existing edit, crop in a bit, and re-upload.
