Airbus A350-900 Experience : Munich to Doha by Qatar Airways

Sun Feb 17, 2019 7:51 am

Hi everyone, this is my fourth trip report in this forum. I want to share my great experience and some photos on board the Qatar Airways flight. Luckily, I took this trip eight months ago while the route from Munich to Doha was still served by Airbus A350-900 fleet. From news and information that I have read, QR had adjusted planned operational aircraft for Munich-Doha route by replacing to Boeing 777-300ER since the beginning of August 2018.

Flight details :
Day and date : Monday, 25th of June 2018
Airline : Qatar Airways
Aircraft type : Airbus A350-900
Flight origin : Franz Josef Strauss International Airport, Munich (MUC)
Flight destination : Hamad International Airport, Doha (DOH)
Time of departure : 16.55 (UTC+2)
Time of arrival : 23.35 (UTC+3)
Flight duration : 5 h 40 m

Afternoon view of the airport, plane was waiting at parking area.

Overview of Airbus A350-900 seats.

I sat in economy class seat number 26G, each seats had personalized entertainment system, Oryx One.

Had just departed from Munich.

In-flight meal menu card of economy class.

For the main meal, I chose macaroni and cheese with asparagus and panko bread crumbs (accompanied with seasonal salad, lemon posset, chocolate bar, rye bread, and tomato juice). Main meal taste was quite good with decent portion (I would give 7/10).

After the in-flight meal service ended, the cabin lights were dimmed, leaving only shades of blue color.

While lots of passengers were sleeping, I was watching Black Panther movie.

Flight map showing 2 hours and 12 minutes before the plane arrived in Doha.

34 minutes before landing, cabin lights were turned on again, this time combination of purple and light green color were used.

Onboard cabin lightning system could be adjusted to many different colors.

I think that this is the end part for my report. Thanks for reading, I hope you like it. See you on my other trip reports .

Nice report!
This plane was A7-AMA, one of the 2 A359s they leased from Latam.

Thank you for the report. My son is flying the exact route later this year returning to Australia. He doesn't seem to care that it is now 777 rather than A350 - his younger brother would be very disappointed :)
