- Cathay Pacific 777-300 Economy Class TPE-HKG (This)
- American Airlines 777-300ER First Class HKG-DFW (Next)

After visiting Taipei, it was time to head to Dallas by connecting through Hong Kong.
Our aircraft, B-HNF, a 777-300 delivered to Cathay Pacific in September 1998.
Rainy day at Taipei Taoyuan.
Cathay Pacific Economy Class Cabin
My first impressions of the seat were... alright. These are rather old seats that feature the sliding shell for recline, the cushions were bent in a few places, old IFE system, etc.
Overall... it's fine for this short hop to Hong Kong.
Cathay Pacific's 777-300 currently feature 356 Economy Class seats arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration, meaning the seat width will be a bit more spacious compared to other carriers that feature the 3-4-3 in economy.
The seat has an adjustable headrest. The seat is a fixed shell that reclines forward into a cradle position. It does not recline into the person behind you.
This took me by surprise. Legroom should be approximately 32 inches of pitch, but this felt like way more. It was really spacious.
...And the aircraft had an external camera!!!
Every seat features a cup holder.
Cathay Pacific gives a complimentary set of headphones to all passengers.
So... we've got 3 headphone holes here, right?
Is this supposed to have only 2 prongs?...
Now, here's the thing that made me really mad.
After departing from the gate, I decided to go check out some of the entertainment Cathay offers as we were delayed 40 minutes due to the rain.
When I switched back, the external camera option was gone.
Has this happened to anyone before?
After takeoff, we were given a small snack. More than enough for this one hour flight.
It came with a "Tomato, Egg, & Ham Roll", Cookie, and Lemon Juice.
Overall, it tasted alright. Not the best. I've had better meals in Cathay Dragon's one hour flights...
Soon, we began to descend into Hong Kong.Arrival in Hong KongSummary
Overall, a very nice flight for this quick flight. You really can't go wrong with an Asian airline that gives you a hot snack on a 1 hour flight compared to U.S. airlines that only gives you minimal food on a 1-5 hour flight...
The seat was solid. Very spacious but pretty old. The IFE had a good amount of options, but screen quality was lackluster.
It's still a shame that the external camera just vanished...
