Flight Review:
It was my first time ever flying American and an MD80 aircraft. I arrived at MSY and I headed over to the American Airlines check in to see how many seats were left before I bought the ZED flight. Since I came in on Southwest airlines, I had to exit security to head over to my gate for my flight to DFW. Security was great, line was not long at all. Gate for this flight was C12. I got super lucky and was given seat 27F. Pushback was amazing because I got to hear the startup of the amazing Pratt and Whitney JT8D-219 engines. Takeoff was amazing and music to my ears. Once we got to cruising altitude, flight attendants started their service. I got a coke and I was given 4 packets of Biscoff Cookies. The way american does their service is nice because they just push the cart down and they are able to serve everybody very quickly. It was a very good flight, the flight attendants were very nice, the pilots were great too. Then after the in-flight service, they picked up the trash very quickly. In-flight entertainment was great, no flight map though which was a let down. Overall, great movie and TV selections. We arrived into an overcast DFW and we went to our gate rather quickly. Very great experience with American Airlines and the MD80.
