After 13 Long Years, Finally.... (RSW-JFK B6) (JFK-RSW DL)(with some photos)

Thu Mar 12, 2020 3:58 pm

After 13 Long years i have returned to My city of NY with my mom , ill tell you as much as i remember some departure times are approximate as i remeber. It was great to see my city, and various family who i haven't seen in a while for the holidays. (I think they should kneecap airlines in doing bag fees which i think are digusting we can debate that another time)
Flew Jetblue up to JFK then flew back to RSW on Delta

December 21, 2019
Jetblue 1730
Seats 30E AND 30F
Airbus 321
First Flight on the A321
Depart:7:40 pm

The weather that day was very dreary and rainy(after we checked in), We had put the Cat up for boarding earlier that day, We arrived at the Airport around 230pm parked the car in long term parking, picked up the shuttle and we checked in and went through security in about 20 minutes. We sat for around 5 hours (mom wanted to get there early i still thought we should have waited an hour later but better safe then sorry). We boarded around 7:15 and took off around 740 Flight was around 1/2-3/4 full. I liked the new Cabins on the 321 and We Brought the $5 dollars ear phones(when did JBU make these BOB?) I had the Terra Chips and Cookies with a Sierra Mist (I wasn't happy that Jetblue switched to Pepsi but lets debate that another time) Mom had Pop Corners and had Coffee. The most important thing i remember is that pretty much for 3/4 of the fight it was a rough chop and mom had trouble pouring the sugar in her Coffee. We landed Safely and i saw the blue 200 aircraft. After we picked up our bags while waiting for our Friend We Saw the Venerable TWA Hotel and it looks beautiful. Stayed with our Friend Off of Francis Lewis and Hillside For 15 Days.

Delta 2806
Terminal 2 B62
Seats 14D AND 14E
Boeing 717
First Flight on a 717-200
While i was sad to leave my city (a wise general once said I SHALL RETURN, and that i will) We checked into the Dilapidated Terminal 2 at the kiosks, We went to the bag drop and i almost gave the agent My Sams Club card instead of my id :rotfl:. We went through security where i thought i lost my wallet but it got stuck in my hoodie :banghead: . We wait at the gate and in between we go to the wendys to get a drink and coffee. We board and the flight is uneventful except with a few bumps when we landed in RSW we did the shifty5 arrival. Went to bag claim we got lost cause we didnt know where the claim was for our flight  . After that we picked up the shuttle to long term parking, picked up the car and went home

Thanks for sharing, seems pretty niche to see a report on a flight out of RSW which is now my local airport after having moved from MIA for a job on the West Coast two years ago.
