Cleveland on a Delta A321, MD88, CRJ-900 & 737-900

Thu May 21, 2020 1:48 am

Back in February I found a flight to CLE on DL, I was going to take for miles. The flight was also on an MD-88 to CLE. Since DL is retiring them next month, this probably was my last flight on an MD88. I was taking a redeye to ATL, so I got to the airport an hour before my flight.

The flight was not full, and boarding was done by 11:25pm. A few minutes later, the door was closed and we started to push back at 11:32pm. Once the engines were started, we began the taxi towards 25R. There were not any planes ahead of us so we taxied onto the runway, and took off at 11:42pm, 3 minutes before our scheduled departure time.

We climbed to 37,000ft. Once we leveled off, the flight attendants quickly came through with drinks and snacks. It was a smooth flight, that passed quickly. About an hour before landing, we descended down to 33,000 ft. A little later we went down to 31,000ft, were we stayed until starting the descent over Alabama.

Boarding started around 7:45am. Everyone was onboard by 8:10am. There were 2 flight attendants doing IOE on this flight. The flight attendants made an announcement, telling us if we needed anything to ask the people that were still in training. It was a cold morning in ATL, and we had frost on the wings. Once the engines were started, we taxied and got deiced.

Nice photos. Looks like you had a nice variety of aircraft. Sounds like quite a tiring day of traveling, however. I don't think I could pull off that kind of trip without turning into a zombie. I can't sleep on planes at all.
Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.
