After coming in 2 hours before from IAD on a 789, it was time to head BACK to the east coast but this time on my first 767. I had the option to take a 777-200 but I wanted to fly a 767 instead. Boarding was literal chaos. United boards from back to front and you had people in first class boarding when they literally called the first set of rows. Gate Agents were scrambling to find people without seats as they did not go to the agent to receive a seat so we got delayed by a few because of that. I boarded and I took my seat in 29A, a preferred seat. This flight was a sold out or almost sold out flight I believe, It was great to see lots of people flying again! We pushed back and I got to experience the iconic 767 flaps. If you don't know they make a really loud whine when deployed, that's because of the hydraulic pump the 767 has. We took off of runway 25R and started our journey to LAX. the 767 has a 232 configuration in economy and a 222 configuration up in Polaris. Legroom wasn't bad it was quite comfortable. The 767 has the older IFE and the 78X, 77W, Selected 763s and 789s have the newer IFE system. Flight attendants passed our a baggie with stroopwafels, water, mini-tortilla chips, and a wipe. I watched a movie and headed off to bed. I woke up around PIT so we were quite close to EWR. As we made our final decent I has treated to a magnificent view of the city of New York with an amazing sunrise in the background. Overall this was another amazing flight with United and I will definitely fly them on a redeye again. I give this flight a 7/10.
