The plane landed around 7:20pm, and got to the gate a few minutes later. As soon as everyone deplaned, boarding started

8A

It was a pretty full flight. The door was closed at 7:55pm, and we pushed back a few minutes later. The engines were quickly started. Runway 10 was the active. But the pilots requested runway 15, I’d assume because it was a faster taxi

Cleared for takeoff

The captain checked in with the departure controller. We were given a heading to the southwest, to join a victor airway. A few minutes later we were cleared direct to the Elmira VOR, before being handed off to NY Center

Climbing out of Syracuse

We climbed up to 28,000ft. Shortly after leveling off, we were heading right back down. The flight attendant came through with water, and pretzels or Biscoff cookies. We were in IMC throughout a lot of the descent. There was an overcast layer at 3000ft, and we were on final by the time we broke out

Final 1R

We touched down and the spoilers came up. Once the reversers came out, the spoilers went back down, until the reversers were stowed

N470ZW departed the following afternoon to Knoxville, TN. That flight ended up being delayed 4 hours

The plane arrived a little bit late from Charleston, SC. Around the time that boarding was supposed to start, an announcement was made that boarding would be delayed due to the cleaners still being on the plane. After someone was walked by in handcuffs by police, boarding started

Boarding

16A, next to N752YX getting ready to depart to Columbus

We ended up pushing back about 10 minutes late. We eventually joined a decent line of planes heading towards runway 30

“Brickyard 3548 fly heading 360, runway 30 cleared for takeoff”

We climbed up to 21,000ft, for the short flight to up to LGA. The flight attendants did not do any service. The flight passed quickly, and soon enough we were descending

Cruising

Starting the descent

We flew straight in to runway 4

Pulling into the gate next to N810UA, that had flown an earlier IAD-LGA flight

N641RW flew right back down to Dulles early the next morning

I spent a few days in New York. My flight back was the reverse of what it was coming. New York to Syracuse, with a layover in Washington DC. But instead of flying out of LGA, I was flying out of JFK. Also the connection was at DCA, as opposed to IAD.

N938AN arriving from Charlotte. The plane had to hold short of the ramp for a few minutes, until a few planes taxied out

N917NN had just arrived from Miami

N310RF was getting ready to head to down to Cali, Colombia

N8031M was going to Medellin, Colombia

The flight was not totally full. They started boarding about 20 minutes before departure. Everyone was seated pretty quickly, and we were ready to go a few minutes before 6:00pm
25A

The door was closed 2 minutes before our departure time, and pushed back right on time. We were pulled up to the top of the alley, and the engines were started.

Starting the taxi out to 31L

There was an Aeromexico 737-800 going to Mexico City ahead of us. They had a small mechanical issue and had to get out of line. They ended up departing from an intersection. Once they were rolling, we were instructed to line up and wait at the full length

We checked in with NY departure, on the SKOOR4 departure. We were given an easterly heading, and cleared to 12,000ft. Eventually they cleared us direct to WAVEY, before being handed off to NY Center

Climbing out of NY

We quickly climbed up to 22,000ft. There was no service on this flight, and after only a few minutes at cruise we were already descending

Cruising

Approaching Washington DC. The pilots made an announcement for the flight attendants to prepare for landing, about 30 minutes before we actually landed

Descending

We checked in with DCA tower, on the Mount Vernon Visual to runway 1

Short final

It was a very hard touchdown. The flight attendant said “I bet everyone is awake after that landing”. Right after exiting the runway, we came to a stop. Several people stood up, and the flight attendant had to tell everyone to sit back down

Pulling into the gate next to N924AN, that had flown up earlier in the afternoon from Miami

N938AN flew back up to JFK

I had a few hours before my last flight back to Syracuse
N424YX pushing back for a flight to Nashville

N439YX after arriving from Savannah

We pushed back a few minutes early. There were a lot of departures around the time we were leaving, and we were one of the first flights out. So, we didn’t have to wait long before we were able to depart

Cleared for takeoff

I was talking to the woman next to me, and turns out she was the mom of someone I went to high school with. We ended up talking most of the flight

Descending

On the visual approach for runway 10

Pulling into the gate

N439YX spent the night at gate 6, before flying early the next morning to Chicago

It was a quick trip down to New York. All the flights were good. It had been while since I was on a CRJ-200, and I had forgotten how small they are. I was back at the airport a few days later for another trip to Florida.
