Introduction
This is trip report is from Jan 2019. I was returning to Sydney after visiting Mumbai. My previous trip can be read here: Trip Report Cathay Pacific CX663 Hong Kong to Mumbai

Arriving at Airport
I booked a Ola to airport, reached airport 3 hours early as there was traffic on the way. Got dropped at Bay 5 as the board was displaying Cathay Pacific.

Image

Checked the flight information outside for check-in counter and gate to enter the terminal. Security checked printed ticket and passport before allowing in terminal.

Image

Check-in

Check-in counter had opened when I reached.

Image

I had completed the check-in online as I didn't have printed boarding pass and wanted to drop bag, joined the queue. After my previous experience on CX Boeing 777-300ER, I had changed seat from window to aisle while completing the online check-in. I was carrying a light bag, had no issue with weight. Received boarding pass for both flights. Information of gate and closing time was circled on the CX660 boarding pass. Baggage tab was attached to Sydney boarding pass.

Image

Security and Immigration

Walked towards the security check. Passed my bags through x-ray and then entered the immigration. Immigration queue was long took about 30-40 minutes to clear.

Very nice report. Thanks for sharing. I have never flown Cathay Pacific but I'm sure it is a great airline to fly with. Also I was impressed with the modern engineering and architecture structures of the terminals. That's the other beauty of air travel, aside from looking at the beauty of flight.

Speaking of Terminal, the T2 terminal in HKG pictured in this report has now been demolished to be rebuilt as an improved terminal as part of the undergoing expansion of the airport. There was less than 13 years between the time it was opened and the time it was closed and subsequently leveled.
The Skydeck and Aviation discovery centre are no more. I'm not sure any such features will be included in its replacement.
